Hydro Power
 

Water Power is advantageous as a power source by gravitation fall of water through a turbine. It typically involves a dam. Iceland has many glacially fed rivers with high flow rates and steep valleys--very good for hydro power.  Below is their plan for sustainable power using hydro and geothermal.

Hydro power in Michigan is limited by the overall topography.  There is very little total relief.  In most counties the relief is less than a few hundred feet.
