Activity at the volcano was low overnight. No volcanic earthquakes of any kind were recorded. However, the risks from the volcano are still extremely high. Galway's Wall is very unstable and could collapse at any time without notice, perhaps with disastrous consequences for much of the evacuated zones. Pyroclastic flows from the new dome will become more likely as the dome grows.
The revised risk map is still in operation, and zone A/B is extremely dangerous. Nobody should be in this area today. Zone E remains safe at this time, and the airport is open.
