Rockfalls from the October 1 dome continue to occur and the volcano remains in a dangerous state. The level of activity could increase at any time and all residents of Zones D and E are reminded to remain vigilant. At Amber alert, there should be no overnight occupation of Zones A, B and C. More rockfalls can be expected during the next few days, and the threat of pyroclastic flows means that the Tar River and Long Ground areas are very dangerous. People must not enter these areas.
Rockfall activity continued overnight although activity was somewhat lower than over the past couple of days. No earthquakes have been recorded. The Gages station is recording continuous, low-amplitude broadband tremor probably associated with increased steaming from the dome.
The volcano was cloudy this morning so no views of the dome have yet been possible.
