There has been some increase in activity at the volcano during the night although it remains at a generally low level.
There were a number of VT earthquakes overnight, although they have been widely-spaced in time. Most have been located at shallow depths beneath the crater. In addition, several rock fall signals have been recorded by the seismic network.
The summit of the volcano is cloudy this morning and the dome is not visible.
Despite the official lowering of the alert level yesterday, the volcano remains in a dangerous state and all Montserratians are reminded to remain prepared and vigilant. Follow the recommendations in the alert procedures, and stay away from the Tar River and Long Ground areas in particular.
The sirens will be tested between 3 and 6 p.m. this afternoon. They will be tested at the same time every Wednesday.
