Activity at the Soufriere Hills volcano was at a low level during the reporting period. A few small rockfalls were recorded by seismic stations closest to the volcano. Some high amplitude hybrid earthquakes were also recorded during the period. There were no volcano-tectonic events or long period earthquakes recorded. Low amplitude broadband tremor has been nearly continuous for most of the reporting period. A mudflow signal was recorded on the Gages seismic station at about 06:15 on 20 September; this may have been caused by the mobilization of ash deposits in Fort Ghaut due to heavy rainfall which began at about 04:00.
Visibility during the early morning has been very poor with low level rain cloud s and heavy rainfall preventing any clear view of the volcano.
