The seismic activity has decreased over the last 24 hours, and the seismic energy release is at a lower level than any time in the last week. A variety of signals have been recorded by the seismic network, including 10 long-period events and five volcano-tectonic earthquakes. Four of the volcano-tectonic earthquakes were located at less than 2 km beneath the crater, and the other was at 3 km depth near Windy Hill.
The southern and eastern EDM triangles were measured today. Only small changes in the line lengths to Chances Peak and Castle Peak were detected, consistent with recent trends of slow deformation.
No visual observations were possible today because of the low cloud. A small number of ash emissions were observed, far fewer than over the previous three days.
