Twenty-one (21) earthquakes have been located for this period. These earthquakes occurred at depths of 0 to 3 km (0 to 2 miles), beneath St. George's Hill and near Harris. There were no located earthquakes beneath the Soufriere Hills volcano. However, between 20:00 on 26 November and 08:00 on 27 November, hundreds of very small earthquakes, occurring at 15 second intervals, were recorded only at the Gages seismic station. These earthquakes were probably due to fluid movement beneath the volcano. The earthquakes decreased in size after 08:00.
All of the seven EDM lines have been remeasured today and the results show very little shortening of the lines. The trend of daily line shortening of a few millimetres is well below levels of immediate concern.
GPS measurements taken today show only a small amount of change since yesterday, within the errors of the method.
It was not possible to make visual observations of English's Crater as the volcano was covered by a thick blanket of cloud throughout the period.
