The level of activity at the volcano was at a much lower level this week than over the previous reporting period.
A total of 104 rockfall signals, 2 long period, and 36 volcano-tectonic earthquakes were recorded over the last week.
There was only one minor ash venting episode this week on 31 May at 5:59 am. This was followed by an extended period of low amplitude tremor that continued throughout the day.
Correlation spectrometer measurements have continued this week. Values for the sulphur dioxide flux on 29, 31 May and 1, 2, 3, and 4 June were 470, 570, 300, 280, 200 and 210 tonnes per day respectively. These are generally low values, but tend to be higher immediately after ash venting episodes.
Electronic distance measurements of the network in Long Ground were repeated this week. So far there has been no consistent movement in these points.
Residents of Montserrat are advised to keep listening to ZJB Radio Montserrat for information in case of any changes in the state of the volcano.
