The volcano has again been quiet today with 17 rockfall signals, 4 volcano-tectonic earthquakes and 1 hybrid earthquake being recorded.
The results of COSPEC measurements completed yesterday indicated a sulphur dioxide flux of 1943 tonnes per day. This is comparable to the levels measured over the previous few days. A sulphurous odour could be smelled in parts of the west of Montserrat today.
Ash levels today could not be measured due to a power outage across the island this morning.
Residents should continue listening to Radio Montserrat in case there are more sudden developments in the state of the volcano.
