The level of seismic activity has been low over the past 24 hours.
Between 4pm yesterday and 4pm today there were 2 volcano-tectonic earthquakes, and 4 rockfall events recorded by the seismograph network. Yesterday evening there was also a longer duration signal that was probably due to a mudflow. The signal started at 9.31 pm and lasted for about 30 minutes.
Dust levels could not be measured today due to a power outage across the island. Measurements should resume tomorrow.
Residents are reminded that the volcano remains in an active state, and that they should continue listening to Radio Montserrat in case the present quiet situation at the volcano changes suddenly.
