The level of volcanic activity remained low overnight.
Seismic activity was also low. Only one earthquake was recorded overnight, this event was too small to be accurately located. Some very small rockfall signals were also recorded. Heavy rain showers overnight triggered a mudflow. The mudflow signal registered on the seismometer network between 0000 and 0100 last night. However, the direction of the flow is unknown as yet.
Soufriere Hills volcano is covered by cloud this morning.
Residents are reminded that the volcano remains in an active state, and that they should continue listening to Radio Montserrat in case the present quiet situation at the volcano changes suddenly.
