Activity at the volcano has remained at a relatively low level overnight with rockfall signals dominating the seismicity. The hybrid earthquake swarm which began at 3:18pm yesterday afternoon lasted until about 7pm. The swarm was not very intense but some of the earthquakes were of moderate size. Between about 10pm and midnight there was another period of heightened activity in which rockfalls dominated the seismicity. Since midnight activity has been at a low level.
The summit of the volcano was obscured by cloud this morning and no views were obtained from the MVO camera at Centre Hills.
Residents are reminded to remain alert and listen to ZJB radio for further information.
