The level of volcanic activity has been at a slightly higher level than yesterday, with several rockfalls and small pyroclastic flows dominating the activity between the 7:00 pm and 1:00. The activity then diminished to a lower level and remained so through to the rest of the night and this morning.
The top of the volcano is again in cloud this morning.
Despite the relatively low level of activity overnight, significant pyroclastic flows may occur in the Tar River and White River valleys with little warning and the probability of pyroclastic flows breaking into Mosquito, Tuitt's and White's Ghauts remains high. The Galways, Tar River and Long Ground areas are extremely dangerous, and should not be entered. Visits to the central corridor should be restricted to those that are absolutely essential, and it should not be used as a route to the airport.
