These images were collected and processed by Dave Schneider of MTU (djschnei@mtu.edu).
Two AVHRR scenes of the ashcloud from the 18 September eruption of
Montserrrat. The images were taken at 0544Z and 1018Z, 18 September. The
colored areas to the east of Montserrat represent the cloud.
- The first image, 0544Z shows the cloud elongating from Montserrat, 175km long E-W and 75km wide N-S.
- The second image, 1018Z, shows the cloud becoming very diffuse as it
extends 550km east of the island. At this point the cloud is 85km wide N-S.
