Ruapehu - IGNS - Media Release V95/04
4 April 1995
Ruapehu Crater Lake
Temperatures in the lake have continued to decline over the past month.
The ARGOS temperature measurements resumed on 13 March and have shown that
the lake is cooling and now approaching 35-C. Levels of acoustic noise in
the lake have also declined. All available indications are that the
recent heating episode is now over and the volcano has returned to its
background state.
