MT. KLYUCHEVSKOY VOLCANO, Kamchatka, Russia 56o11'N, 161o47 E. Friday, August 13, 1993 The summit eruption continues but the volcano was obscured by clouds most of the week. On August 13, the gas and ash plume was as high as 200 meters above the crater. Seismic activity decreases. Observations made from Helicopter by V. Kirianov and S. Zharinov on August 8, indicated the following volcanoes were in their typical stage of moderate fumarolic activity: Mutnovskii, Avachinskii, Karymskii, and Kizimen.
