The Mason Esker north of Jackson and the Blue Ridge Esker to the South are both impressive glacial features which have been geologically exploited.

Misconceptions:

1.Glaciers are rapidly created

2.Soil must have always been in its present form

3.Glaciers erode by pushing rocks

4.The ‘Ice Ages’ happened in the past and are now over

5.Glaciers are only moving ice masses as they move toward the ocean

6.Glacial ice moves backwards during glacial retreats

7.The present ice caps have always existed on Earth, although their size has changed through time.
