An unusual feature of Lake Superior is Ice Volcanoes, which form above sand bars and reefs near the lakeshore as ice shelves build during cold periods. These are fascinating features that resemble hornitos.
Ice Volcanoes are also found on Mars and satellites of Jupiter and Saturn.
