SeaWiFS Bandwidth Tutorial
This page explains how different SeaWiFS band are ratioed, then run through
algorithms to create lake parameter estimates.
Coastal Chlorophyll
The first two images are SeaWiFS
Rrs490 and
Rrs555. Their ratio is used in the SeaWiFS Coastal Chl Algorithm to extract chlorophyl content,
shown in the final image as Coastal
Chlorophyl.
OC2 Chlorophyll
SeaWiFS Rrs490 and
Rrs555. Their ratio is used in the SeaWiFS OC2 Chl Algorithm to extract chlorophyl content,
shown in the final image as OC2
Chlorophyl.
OC4 Chlorophyll
SeaWiFS (Rrs443
Rrs490
Rrs510) and
Rrs555. Their ratio is used in the SeaWiFS OC4 Chl Algorithm to extract chlorophyl content,
shown in the final image as OC4
Chlorophyl. The OC4 Algorithm is the singular in its use of a maximum
value of either Rrs443, Rrs490, or Rrs510.
Morel-3 Chlorophyll
SeaWiFS Rrs443 and
Rrs555. Their ratio is used in the SeaWiFS Morel-3 Chl Algorithm to extract chlorophyl content,
shown in the final image as Morel-3
Chlorophyl.
