A series of exposures of the Keweenaw Fault occur along the steep shoreline N of Bete Grise. This is perhaps the best exposure of the fault--where you can put your finger on it!
Along the Keweenaw Water Trail, with only a few feet of water depth, You can trace the fault where the red Jacobsville layers contrast with the black lavas of the Portage Lake Volcanics.
