This was a mine that focussed on the top of the Osceola flow, an ophitic flow (11-64 m thick) that was traced from near Cliff all the way to Hancock. Just S of Calumet the Osceola #6 had an amygdaloid with variable thickness (1-18 m) and calcite, epidote K-feldspar chlorite and native copper.

Water in the mines of Calumet is an important potential geothermal resource, and an enviromental issue. Important report from 1956.
